Richard D. Lane
President and CEO

Rich is a technology veteran with more than twenty five years' experience in start-ups and transitional/growth management in the mobile communications industry.

Rich was one of the original team members at AT&T's Advanced Mobile Phone Service (1982) planning the initial roll-out of the cellular industry, as well as being a founding Member and Director of Marketing at PacTel Mobile Access (AKA AirTouch/Verizon Wireless - California). Rich was founding President of PacTel Mobile Services and founding Head of Sales and Marketing at AT&T Wireless - NY (MetroOne). He also served as the General Manager of Panasonic's wireless business unit; EVP and COO of Reflection Technology; President & CEO of PureSpeech, Inc.; CEO of SwiftTouch Corp and President & CEO of Domania, Inc. Most recently Rich was a Managing Partner of Broadband Initiatives, LLC, a wireless broadband consulting practice, and interim COO of GreatCall, a San Diego cellular service provider of simplified cellular service initially focused on the over 50 market.

Rich received his M.B.A., Finance, and B.S., Marketing, from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Rich, still active with his alma mater, serves as President of the Wharton Alumni Club of Boston.

James J. Coyne
Vice President of Sales

Jim’s career spans 30 years in sales and marketing positions primarily within the Telecom and Consumer Electronics sectors and has included Fortune 500 firms such as Motorola, QUALCOMM, Metromedia and Panasonic.

Jim joined Airpath from Market Dynamics, a sales and distribution consulting firm he founded in 1999.  The company represented technology clients and specialized in client acquisition and business development for both US and International markets.  Prior to Market Dynamics, Jim spent 5 years at QUALCOMM, Inc., the last two of which he was VP EMEA/Senior Director, International Sales.

Jim graduated from St Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA, with a BS in Marketing Management; Motorola University, Executive Development Program, Schaumburg, IL and Matsushita Electric Company, Panasonic Management Program, Osaka, Japan.

Bryan Smith
Vice President of Finance and Administration

Bryan Smith is responsible for Airpath’s financial operations and legal activities, as well as several administrative functions. Bryan has 18 years of relative financial experience in high technology.

Prior to joining Airpath, Bryan served as Corporate Controller for SofTech, Inc., a leading provider in Product Lifecycle Management Solutions. There he established the infrastructure of the finance department and participated in merger and acquisition activities. Before joining SofTech, Bryan held executive finance positions at Workgroup Technology Corp.

Bryan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Nichols College

Ed Whitesell
Director of Operations

Ed has been with Airpath since 2001 and has been involved in many aspects of the business and operations. He is responsible for working with Airpath's customers, partners and internal teams to develop and implement the Airpath's overall technology vision. Ed has experience in multiple areas of technology including IT/Operations, System & Network Architecture, Build-out, managing High Availability systems and Database Design.

Previously, Ed was with CISP as a Network Engineer with primary responsibilities on System and Network infrastructure as well as designing the RADIUS systems capable of handling the needs of the managed VISP and proxy dial-up customers. Before that, he was at WholesaleISP and responsible for System infrastructure as well as the initial training and configuration of customers into the hosted platform.
