WALTHAM, MA — June 3, 2005 — Airpath Wireless, Inc., the leader in enabling management and roaming for wireless broadband networks, and Trustive, the European-based hotspot aggregator, announced today an agreement enabling Trustive with access to increased Wi-Fi footprint via the Airpath Provider Alliance (APA) and Airpath's InterRoam hosted roaming and clearinghouse platform.
The agreement provides immediate access to Airpath's 2,600 APA locations and clears the path for Trustive to further expand its Wi-Fi footprint with thousands of additional locations through existing operators that have already interconnected to the InterRoam clearinghouse platform, all without the burden of separate interconnects.
With the addition of thousands of additional hotspots from the APA network, Trustive now offers access to over 12,000 hotspots worldwide. This agreement creates one of the world's largest aggregated Wi-Fi networks as part of a unified service.
The APA access gives Wi-Fi customers of Trustive the ability to easily roam onto the thousands of hotspots currently enabled by Airpath. The customer will have the same user experience that they are accustomed to by using the same credentials to gain access, regardless of the hotspot operator. By taking advantage of the InterRoam hosted service platform and Airpath's existing carrier relationships, Trustive will be able to further expand their Wi-Fi footprint quickly via a single interconnection.
"Talk of which service provider offers the most hotspots can be pretty vacuous. Some companies are counting multiple access points at the same location and many aggregators are also counting theoretical agreements where the back office systems integration is not yet in place," said Gavin Dresselhuis, Trustive's managing director. "With access to the APA and InterRoam, we are confident that we are now offering one of the best aggregated services available, with Trustive offering 12,126 hotspot locations live and online."
As a hotspot aggregator, Trustive provides all the necessary integration and administration to deliver access to multiple Wi-Fi networks through a common interface with a single sign-on. For the network providers it offers a fully branded version of its client software, allowing them to resell access to the full Trustive network as an additional part of their own service.
