Airpath and Biltmore Communications Enable Wireless Zones Throughout Metro Atlanta

WALTHAM , MASS. – March 1, 2006 – Airpath Wireless, Inc., the leader in enabling management and roaming for wireless broadband networks, today announced that Biltmore Communications, a leading Atlanta-based broadband service provider, is employing Airpath’s metro class operational support system (OSS), WiBOSS® Metro, for their back office wireless broadband solution.

Initial hot zone areas deployed by Biltmore Communications are located at Georgia State University, the Georgia Institute of Technology and the Georgia World Congress Center. Students, faculty and visitors at both Georgia State University and the Georgia Institute of Technology now have easy access to broadband Wi-Fi throughout their campuses at up to fifty times the speed of dial-up. With WiBOSS® Metro , Biltmore Communications can customize the service plans and the look and feel of the web portals by gateway, by location or by service set identifier (SSID). Increasingly, network operators that are working on hot zone and city wide deployments are required to provide specific information by location or vary Wi-Fi service plan prices by location. For the university settings, student access is free of charge, and visitors pay a nominal daily fee. The Georgia World Congress Center offers service plans to attendees for $9.95 per day.

The Georgia World Congress Center is one of the largest multi-purpose sports and entertainment complexes in the United States and includes the 71,000 seat Georgia Dome, 21-acre Centennial Olympic Park, and has hosted up to 125,000 visitors at a single event.
